Love is not self-seeking

Love is not self-seeking

We like The Message’s (MSG) interpretation of this virtue: “Love doesn’t have a swelled head.”

Egotism is the practice of talking and thinking about oneself excessively because of an undue sense of self-importance.

As you work on your journey of self-love, recognize its a fine balance of spending time working on yourself but steering clear of being excessively conceited or absorbed in yourself. The more you focus on yourself, the less you can give to the ones you love.

Make finding the right balance a goal. It can be challenging and it will take take effort, work and communication but you can achieve self-love and growth while engaged in thriving relationships.

Take it all in. Be humble. Love yourself and love others.
