Also known as a Byzantine style of crucifix , the Italian made crucifix has a rich shade of Red enameling, along with a subtle pewter finished frame. The crucifix pendant has silver oxidized plating; made in Italy, but not stamped. The crucifix hangs from a sturdy stainless steel jump ring for strength; is excellent quality & weight to it. The pendant is attached to a 30″ stainless steel Military grade ball chain; made in USA & won’t tarnish. The chain is long enough to slip over the head; perfect for people who have trouble with clasps. Ball chain can easily be shortened with a sharp pair of kitchen scissors. The crucifix is 1 5/8″ long including jump ring. NOTE: We can make the chain shorter for you! Just message us at checkout how short you need it:) (penny for size comparison only….thank you:) About the Apostles’ Cross: The Budded Cross, also known as the Apostles’ Cross, the Treflée, Botonée or Cathedral Cross is stylized cross, common in heraldry as well as Christian iconography. When the ends of the cross arms contain 3 buds, we are reminded of the teachings in 1 Cor. 13: “Faith, Hope, Love; The greatest of these is love.” Christians are also reminded of the holy Trinity of Father, Son & Holy Spirit by these three buds, or indeed anything else with a triple design. Since there are four arms, another name is the Apostles’ Cross, with one bud for each of the twelve budding Christian apostles.
